Our fairy built holiday tree will be sure to delight those of you left in town. The college kids may be the only thing keeping San Marcos from becoming New Branfels. We have plenty of cheer here so swing on through to cure your holiday blues.

Is a wonderful deer stew with potatoes and such from the garden. Lots of it in the crock pot.mcome on over around 8 or so if you have an empty belly.

Food is Free

… If you know how to make your own bow.And arrows. And knives. That is quite the rack for a city deer (taken by our good friend, Greg). Gotta love having a dirt driveway and 20 acres of forest.

Herb Spiral

Our newly improved herb spiral with its winter hoop structure pulled back for watering on this beautiful day. Currently we have lavender, skullcap, parsley, lemon balm, sage, purple basil, and two mint variants. Not pictured is the rest of the herb garden nearby.

Tomatoes in the hoop house

A little hard to see but we still have tomatoes ripening ON THE VINE in December. All thanks to our handy, half-day hoop house made from bent PVC and plastic sheeting.

Keyhole Garden Bed, First Planting

We have an abundance of lettuce, collard, beet, and kale greens. We raised the bed about 18inches with forest soil mixed with a lot of our amazing compost from the summer. The bed is in full production right now. Can’t wait for the carrots and beets’
